Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) President Datuk Yong Teck Lee (pic) denied rumours that his absence at the recent swearing in of Ministers as well as elected and nominated representatives is an indication of his not accepting his appointment as Nominated Assemblyman. “I am not refusing the appointment although I have my reservations about my effectiveness in shaping government policies and implementation as a government backbencher,” the former Chief Minister told Daily Express, Saturday. Yong was among three elected members and two nominated assemblymen who did not attend the ceremony. The others were Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor (who is hospitalised with Covid-19), Sulabayan Assemblyman Datuk Jaujan Sambakong, Bugaya Assemblyman Datin Manis Muka Mohd Darah and Sabah Bersatu Srikandi Vice Chief Datuk Amisah Yassin.
