Kota Kinabalu: The Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) said essential goods transporters entering or leaving the district during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) only need to obtain  permission from the police.

Sabah Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) chairman Dato’ Chin Kim Hiung (pic) said based on the notice issued by MPS, drivers of vehicles transporting essential goods need not take the Covid-19 swab test before entering and leaving Sandakan as indicated earlier.

Chin said the earlier directive dated Oct 7 created confusions and was met with objection from transporters as it would incur additional costs to take the Covid-19 test before their departure to and from Sandakan and, moreover, the result was only valid for 72 hours.
