Lucas Moura has welcomed fellow Brazilian Carlos Vincius to Tottenham.

The striker has arrived from Benfica on-loan with the view to a permanent deal.

“I'm very happy because I have a Brazilian guy with me!" said Lucas, born and bred in Sao Paulo. “I can speak Portuguese, I can joke with him about the things we speak about in Brazil. So, I'm very happy.

“Carlos is a great player, for sure. He will help us a lot. He's a very humble guy, a very simple guy, and I'm so happy for him. He's a very good player, a player we were missing in the squad, and for sure he will help.

“I'm so happy for him because he deserves it. He had such a good season with Benfica. Let's help him now, and he will be good for us."

Born in Jesus das Selvas, Maranhao, Brazil, Carlos was joint top goalscorer in Portugal's Primeira Liga last season with 18 goals in 32 matches. He finished the campaign with 24 goals and 13 assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.
