Kota Kinabalu: Penampang and Tambunan were the latest districts to make preparations to accommodate the increase in Covid-19 cases throughout Sabah.They were among additional treatment centres or wards that have been opened in 15 districts. The Tambunan Community Hall has a capacity for 58 beds and the Penampang Cultural Centre can accommodate 87 beds.

It was not immediately known how many are currently warded at the facilities.

With the addition of these two treatment centres, the total number of beds in the outpatient treatment centres is 4,174.
