Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl insists the focus is on Brighton, not their unbeaten run.

Hasenhuttl insists Southampton aren't resting on their laurels after beating Everton and Aston Villa to make it four wins from five.

"I'm using the energy to think about what we can do better, rather than what we've done well," he said.

"Our level is a lot higher now than at the start of the season and this gives us a better chance to be competitive."

Southampton are five games unbeaten since beating Burnley on 26 September.

"We had a few opponents last season where we took no points, so Friday is a good challenge to show we're better now," he said.

"It was the same against Burnley, so the clear message is we have to do better now."
