Kota Marudu students no longer have to share classes

Kuala Lumpur: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Langkon students in Kota Marudu will no longer have to share classrooms with the primary pupils, thanks to the prompt action by the Ministry of Education (MoE).

In thanking Senior Education Minister Dr Radzi Jidin, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs), Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili (pic) said the construction of the long-abandoned SMK Langkon’s building will help boost the education system in the district.

“SMK Langkon students were forced to do afternoon classes at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Langkon building due to the delay in the construction of their own building.

“I raised this matter up with the Senior Minister (Dr Radzi), prompting him to visit the primary school and the abandoned secondary school site in September.

“We are grateful that works on the abandoned site have resumed this month and the school-going children will no longer have to share their classrooms.

“They will soon have a conducive and comfortable learning environment,” said Ongkili, who is also the Kota Marudu Member of Parliament.

Ongkili also added that Dr Radzi assured that he would be monitoring the progress of the project personally.
