Newcastle United hero John Barnes doesn't believe manager Steve Bruce will ever get the credit he deserves.
Until the ownership of the Magpies changes hands, the former England international believes Bruce and owner Mike Ashley will always be held accountable for every defeat and poor display - regardless of whether it's fair or not.
Barnes told PlayOjo: "It comes down to perception as there are fans who love that type of football, aggressive, long balls, fighting.
"There's no such thing as a more attractive football. It depends on what people like. You know what is good football, winning football matches.
"Newcastle will always be a club in turmoil, as long as this ownership situation is there whereby, when they win, five matches in a row, everything's going to be great, then all of a sudden, they lose and it's going to be Steve Bruce and Mike Ashley's fault.
"Steve Bruce will never get any credit when they win and if they play well. But when they don't play well and lose, it'll be because of him."
