Mikel Arteta admits he's been surprised by how quickly Thomas Partey and Gabriel have settled at Arsenal.
Ghana midfielder Partey was signed from Atletico Madrid on deadline day, while Gabriel arrived from Lille right before the start of the season.
Both players were excellent in the 1-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday, which ended Arsenal;s 14-year run without a win at Old Trafford.
Asked whether he expected Gabriel and Partey to look so good so early, Arteta replied: "Well, no, because I know how tough this league is and you cannot compare it to any other league in the world.
"But we try to pick certain characteristics in the profile of players that we want to find for our club, and I want to minimise the risk by looking and looking and making sure that they can contribute to what we're trying to do.
"I think they play with a lot of maturity and they look like they've been here longer than that. I still know that there are still some connections and units where they don't have that flow, because they haven't played much together. I can see that.
"But as well, I see the spirit we are creating and the personality that they are showing on the pitch. Other players like Mo for example with the game he had, credit to them. Everybody's ready for the show."
