Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman admits Gini Wijnaldum “could be an option in the future".
Koeman and Wijnaldum worked alongside each other with the Netherlands before the former took over at Barca.
The Liverpool midfielder has yet to sign an extension on his current contract, which expires next summer.
There was speculation Wijnaldum could reunite with Koeman this past summer.
Asked by Sport about signing Wijnaldum, Koeman said: “He's very good but he's playing for Liverpool.
“He could be an option in the future. I can't say more."
