Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Government will collect the five per cent sales tax on oil and gas from Petronas, which could amount to RM1.25 billion starting next year. Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said the issue had been brought to the attention of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic), who had agreed on the matter. He said the RM1.25 billion would come straight from Petronas and, thus, was not included in the Budget 2021 proposals presented on Friday.
