Talks will begin before the January transfer window to organise a loan for Arsenal defender William Saliba.

Both the club and player are frustrated with the current situation, with Saliba left out of Mikel Arteta's Premier League and Europa League squads.

Saliba only arrived from Saint-Etienne this summer after spending the season on loan at the Ligue 1 club.

Arsenal tried to send him back to France for another term, but the two clubs couldn't agree a deal.

The London Evening Standardsays Saliba will be sent out on loan in January.

The 19-year-old centre-back is currently training with the Gunners' U23 side.
