Atletico Madrid made a sensational bid to re-sign Antoine Griezmann from Barcelona over the summer, it has been revealed.
Just 12 months after selling Griezmann to Barca for €120m, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo sought to bring him back to Madrid ahead of this season.
Carrusel Deportivo says Cerezo made an attempt to set up a multi-player swap bid for Griezmann, but the proposal was turned down.
Mario Hermoso, Thomas Lemar and Alvaro Morata were offered to Barca for the France international, all with the approval of Atletico coach Diego Simeone.
But it wasn't enough to convince Barca to part with the attacker.
