TAWAU: The Fight Covid-19 for Tawau (FCT) Campaign Committee donated 1,600 sets of isolation gowns (PPE) worth RM48,000 to the Tawau Hospital recently.

The gowns were designated for use in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

The Director of the Department of Anaesthesiology and ICU, Dr Chia Peh Wui had reflected to the FCT Campaign Committee that one of the major shortages suffered by the hospital was isolation gowns.

According to her, the ICU alone exhausts at least 120 isolation gowns per day and the shortage has become more dire with the current continued spread of the virus in the community. Tawau has yet to see a drop in its daily new cases.
