Kota Kinabalu: Bersatu Sabah has formed a Special Task Force to look into recommendations and suggestions for upcoming 2021 State Budget to be tabled this month.Its Information head Khairul Firdaus Akbar (pic) said a Bersatu Sabah State Leadership meeting also agreed that among the main thrusts to be considered in the State budget are the welfare and well-being of the people as well as the economic resilience of the state in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. “All 25 divisions of Bersatu Sabah had been tasked to get grassroots feedback on people’s problems, especially in facing challenges following the Covid-19 pandemic transmission.

“This followed the request of Bersatu Sabah head Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor who is also the Chief Minister,” he said in a statement here. Among the consensus, Khairul said is the need to increase effectiveness of a mechanism in delivering assistance to those affected at all levels.

“Some immediate action also needs to be taken including increasing involvement of delivery machinery to assist existing government employees from the District Office, Social Welfare Department and local authorities. “In addition, a tracking system that could look out for those people affected by access and resources of food also need to be streamlined,” he said.
