Manchester City chiefs are disappointed with manager Pep Guardiola's reluctance to consider a new long-term contract.
With his current deal due to expire in June, Guardiola has stated he is keen to extend his stay into next season.
However, Goal says Guardiola is now favouring only a 12-month extension - much to the disappointment of City's board.
As such, the Sky Blues are sending out feelers to potential replacements.
Free agent Mauricio Pochettino, formerly of Tottenham, is in contact, as is RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann.
