Brighton boss Graham Potter says Danny Welbeck is a step closer to making his full debut.

The former England striker looked hungry when going on as substitute in the defeat at Tottenham.

He spoke to Graham Potter after training on Wednesday and told his head coach he is feeling sharper all the time.

Potter told The Argus: “I spoke with him and he says he is feeling better and better as we go.

“He hadn't had much football training before he arrived with us because he was just training on his own pretty much.

“It's just that next step of playing with a team and making runs and recovering.

“But he is getting stronger and stronger as the days go and it was nice to get him on the pitch the other night.

“He will be involved (against Burnley) and he is getting better and better."
