Trio hurt in Beluran mishap

BELURAN: A passenger was seriously injured while two others, including the driver, were slightly injured in an accident involving a four-wheel-drive at Km 11, Jalan Telupid-Beluran, Sunday.

Beluran District Police Chief Supt Kasim Muda said the seriously injured victim was  sitting in the rear seat of the Toyota Revo while the other passenger was seated in front.

He said in the 1.28pm incident, all three, aged between 39 and 50 were heading towards Lahad Datu from Beaufort.

“Upon arriving at a bend, the vehicle lost control and overturned several times before crashing on the left side of the road.

Kasim said the seriously injured victim was sent to the Duchess of Kent Hospital (HDOK) for further treatment.

“The case is being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said.
