Kota Kinabalu: Sixteen Vietnamese fishermen on board a boat were detained and ordered out of Sabah waters after they were intercepted some 149 nautical miles off here, Friday. The foreign fishing boat, believed to be fishing off the State Capital’s shores was detected by the Royal Malaysian Navy’s KD Paus. KD Paus Commanding Officer, Lt Commander Nor Hisham Rahman, said the crew were detained and inspected on Friday afternoon.

“The fishing boat was later evicted and given a stern warning not to do any fishing activities in the Malaysian Maritime Zone (ZMM) in future,” he said.
