Fisherman is feared drowned in Pitas

PITAS: A fisherman who is feared to have drowned might have fallen off a “bagang” (a fishing facility at sea that uses nets and lights to catch fish) near Kg Rosob, Pantai Pitas, here, on Friday.

Kota Marudu Fire and Rescue Station chief Rony Sikawan said the fisherman was identified as Hamlee, 46.

Rony, who led the search and rescue operation, rushed to the scene with six members, a utility vehicle, a vehicle and a rescue boat upon receiving a distress call at 9.39am.
