France great Jean-Pierre Papin has no doubts where Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema stands amongst the country's finest players.
Real coach Zinedine Zidane has declared Benzema the greatest French striker of all time.
Papin told L'Equipe: "Karim Benzema is by far the best (striker) of his generation, he is very complete.
"I like his finishing, his way of participating in the team's game, in their creation. He is not only there to score goals, he is there to add the offensive animation.
"His lifespan at Real Madrid is incredible. In such a club it is not easy to stay or adapt. He arrived and forced himself in when he had competition from fantastic players."
