Former West Ham United midfielder Josh Cullen is happy with his first weeks at Anderlecht.

Cullen left the Hammers over the summer to sign permanently with Vincent Kompany's Anderlecht.

He said, "Choosing to leave West Ham a good few weeks ago was not easy but it had to be done when I was 24. I spent 15 years of my life there and there is bound to be a little sadness leaving.

"Why didn't I break through there? Frankly, I don't know. You should ask the different managers."

He also said: "When the opportunity to sign for Anderlecht presented itself, I was very flattered. It is a club with tradition that still has a lot of ambition. It's just a shame not yet to have been able to discover the fans since it is behind closed doors."
