TAMBUNAN: The 500 acres applied for by the Tambunan District Council several years ago to enable it to generate revenue through cultivation has been approved by the Government, said its Chairman Jumain Abdul Ghani. “The application by the Council made several years ago has been approved. This land was proposed for the planting of bamboo and herbal trees to increase the Council’s revenue,” he said at the swearing-in of new Tambunan district councillors, here. However, Jumain said the Council is facing constraints in paying the premiums for the area.

“But the Council, together with the councillors, will discuss to address this issue with the help of investors, without the Council having to spend a single penny,” he said.
