Boy found dead after croc attack

LAHAD DATU: An eight-year-old boy was found dead after he was believed to have been attacked by a crocodile while swimming in Sungai Sabah Baru, here, Thursday.

District Police Chief ACP Rohan Shah Ahmad said the boy and a friend had gone to the river to swim around 1.30pm.

“While swimming in the river, the boy was attacked by a crocodile, prompting his friend to immediately rush to the victim’s house and inform his father,” he said.

A search and rescue operation was mounted, with assistance from the Marine Police Force and Fire and Rescue Department.
