Kota Kinabalu: Appointed Assemblyman Datuk Amisah Yassin said the community should be more sensitive and supportive of the special groups with physical and mental disabilities, including their caregivers.“It is the right thing to give attention to them (caregivers) as it is not easy for them to manage people with problems such as Down’s syndrome, autism and dyslexia, among others. Amisah, who is also Sabah Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia Srikandi Ranau Chief, earlier visited Bukit Harapan at the Jalan Tuaran Bypass, here.

She also assured that the Government would ensure the community that requires special attention would not to be neglected nor be seen as a burden. “The special group requires special care so they can have their lives as normal as possible. “Although they might be lacking physically or mentally but they are still able to contribute to society should they be educated and nurtured with effective teaching and therapy,” she added.
