3 vessels and 400kg seafood seized

SANDAKAN: Marine police here seized three tug boats and 400kg of sea catch of various types and sizes in the Pamaguan sea area here on Tuesday.

Commanding Officer of the Sandakan Region 4 Marine Police Force, DSP Rusdin Banin, said the marine team conducting the “Ops Benteng” Covid-19 detained the vessel around 9am to 12pm while they were fishing (pic).

 “Further examination found that the tugboat had committed an offence under the Fisheries Act 1985, Section 8 (b) which violated the licence conditions for towing less than three nautical miles from the coast.
