Brighton boss Graham Potter is wary pushing Tariq Lamptey too hard amid hamstring concerns.
Lamptey, who has attracted interest from Arsenal, missed Brighton 's draw at West Ham and is out of Tuesday's game against the Gunners.
The 20-year-old rising star is known for his marauding runs, but Potter is eager to ensure he does not suffer any further lay-offs.
“We will have to manage him carefully," said the Seagulls' boss. “The nature of how he plays, you have to be careful because you don't want him to be out for a number of weeks.
"But I am expecting him to be back pretty soon. He's recovering well.
“We are learning about him and he is learning about the demands of the Premier League. Also the demands of his position and how he plays the game.
“We haven't got a like-for-like replacement for Tariq, so you have to adjust as a team."
