Increase funding for Youth, Sports Ministry: Phoong

Kota Kinabalu: Luyang Assemblyman cum former Youth and Sports Minister Phoong Jin Zhe (pic) is urging the State Government to increase allocations for the Youth and Sports Ministry in the 2021 State Budget. 

As such, he has drawn up eight suggestions for the State Government to consider when tabling the 2021 State Budget that would benefit youths, create more jobs and stimulate economic recovery.

The eight proposals are:

1. Increase allocations for the Youth Entrepreneurship Aspiration Programme (Yeap) from RM2 million to RM4 million in order to encourage entrepreneurship. 

“The Government should also expand the field to e-commerce platforms. This would benefit more youths by lowering the qualifications and abolishing political interference,” said Phoong in a statement, Wednesday.
