Manchester United will not allow midfielder Jesse Lingard to leave for free at the end of the season.
Lingard has a contract that runs until the summer of 2021, which takes him to the end of this campaign.
According to the Daily Mail, United have an option to extend the contract by a year.
It appears they will take up that option, meaning Lingard cannot leave for free.
The Englishman has not played a single Premier League minute this season, and is well down the pecking order at the club.
But United may feel they can get a transfer fee for Lingard, who is on around £100,000 a week.
