Gianluca Petrachi has revealed he offered to return to Roma this season.
Petrachi was dumped as sporting director last year, but saw a fresh chance under new owners the Friedkin Group.
He explained: "I asked to be reinstated in my conciliation before the judge. It's not that I had problems with the new ownership, I had them with the old one. I was asked by the Roma lawyers what I would do with the four or five months I was sidelined. I said I would give it (compensation) up if I returned.
"This was not granted to me but I would also have considered it with a simple confrontation with the president who did not know me."
