Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Srikandi asked Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) to focus on winning back the trust of the rakyat in Sabah, who have rejected the party, instead of busy protesting against Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

State PKR Srikandi Chief, Junaidah Makku, said it is not Sabah PKR’s intention to create an issue with friends from Warisan but she feels the call to respond to Warisan Wirawati Deputy Chief Jo-Anna Sue Henley Rampas’ recent harsh and uncalled for statement against Anwar.

She said Jo-Anna’s statement that Warisan will continue political collaboration with Pakatan Harapan (PH) and other opposition parties was a sigh of relief but her disputing Anwar’s credibility as the Opposition leader was too much.

Maybe Jo-Anna is still new in the political arena so she did not know other politicians who have been fighting against the Barisan Nasional (BN) regime previously, said Junaidah, adding that Jo-Anna should be thankful that Anwar’s struggle has opened up the space for the Warisan leadership to capture Sabah.

“Anwar’s credibility as well as aptitudes had been tested and admired not only by colleagues and enemies in politics in the country but he was recognised as among the best by politicians throughout the world.

“Therefore I  urge Warisan leadership to find the equation point with PH and other opposition parties to become an opposition of quality and win back the trust of the rakyat before facing the Perikatan Nasional (PN) at the 15th General Election (PRU15),” she said in a statement Tuesday.

Junaidah said Warisan should not doubt  Anwar’s abilities as Opposition leader to the extent of losing trust on him but instead Warisan leaders should strive to regain the trust of the rakyat to their party, which had been rejected by the rakyat in Sabah recently.
