Affected villagers must be compensated well: YB

Kota Kinabalu: The State Government must ensure the welfare and wellbeing of villagers who will be affected by the construction of Papar Dam, if the mega project is carried out.

Limbahau Assemblyman Datuk Juil Nuatim (pic) suggested appropriate compensation to the villagers.

 “I believe the previous government saw this Papar Dam construction project as the best solution to overcome the water supply problem that has plagued Papar and Sabah for many years.

“Therefore, I would like call on the new State Government to give high consideration to continue this project for the welfare of the people in the future.

“But if the project is carried out, they must place priority to the villagers’ needs and wellbeing and need to be relocated.
