Liverpool football chief Michael Edwards has pulled back from plans of signing a new goalkeeper in January.
Edwards is set for a January transfer U-turn after two excellent performances from Caoimhin Kelleher, says Football Insider.
Kelleher was selected ahead of Adrian for last Tuesday's clash against Ajax after first-choice keeper Alisson suffered a hamstring injury in training.
The 22-year-old repaid Jurgen Klopp's faith in him with a solid performance as Liverpool beat the Dutch side 1-0 to secure a place in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Kelleher seemed to have grown in stature by the time he made his Premier League debut against Wolves on Sunday, making several good saves as he turned in a commanding display in the Reds' 4-0 victory.
And his encouraging form has reportedly led to Liverpool's recruitment team changing their plans for when the transfer window re-opens next month.
Edwards and his staff have shelved plans to sign a new back-up keeper and will instead offer Kelleher a lucrative new contract.
