Liverpool have joined the battle for Manchester City defender Eric Garcia.
Off contract in June, Garcia has refused to consider new terms at City as he pines for a return to former club Barcelona.
However, Arsenal have already jumped into the battle ahead of next month's January market - and now Liverpool are also interested.
Sport says Liverpool are eyeing the Spanish youngster.
The Reds are in the market for a new centre-half after losing defensive pair Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to serious knee injuries earlier this season.
However, there remains a confidence inside Barca that Garcia will sign a pre-contract with them from January 1 - despite the uncertainty of a looming presidential election.
