Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) going national would benefit the State in the long run, says Sabah DAP.Its Acting Chairman Datuk Frankie Poon (pic) said he believed it was a good move by Warisan for the party and Sabah in the long-term. He said Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal was not just a local figurehead but someone with capabilities.

“The experience that I had with their president showed that he is a very capable leader with vast experience, clear vision and good leadership,” he said Sunday. “They have several young and capable leaders as well, so I am sure they can grow bigger when they go national. But it will not be easy. It will take time for it to establish itself after setting foot in the national arena,” Poon said.

Asked if Sabah DAP would continue working closely with Warisan after it goes national, he said, “Why not.” “Sabah DAP would always work with anyone who aspires to campaign and work for the cause of Sabah’s interests. We have been behind on so many issues and we need to rectify them soonest possible,” he said. He said the move would also make the Warisan Plus coalition stronger and should benefit Sabah in the long-term.
