Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry has approved a grant of RM30,000 to the Malaysian Association of Travel and Travel Agents (Matta) including RM10,000 for its training programme.Its Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin announced this at a meeting with Matta committee members at the Tun Fuad Stephens Kota Kinabalu guesthouse, Friday (pic at left). He is confident the government’s seriousness in helping Matta through the grant will boost the spirit of all involved, especially in the recovery phase of the tourism industry in Sabah.

Previously, Matta had held a meeting with the Minister to voice the problems faced due to the spread of Covid-19. Meanwhile, Matta’s request for one-off assistance is now being refined and subject to Cabinet approval.
