Boost users can now buy Google Play credit via their Boost app, allowing them to skip the hassle of registering a debit or credit card to their Google Play account. Offered as part of the #BoostGotYou “Stay At Home” edition campaign, this new service addresses the increasing demand for digital entertainment and games as Malaysians adopt a stay-at-home lifestyle to combat the spread of Covid-19.
Provided in partnership with global payments technology company, InComm Payments – who also manages Google’s physical and digital gift cards and codes – the Google Play codes are available on Boost at values ranging from RM10 to RM200. They can be purchased via the following steps:
- Tap on the “More” tab, followed by the “Games” tile.
- Tap on “Game Credits” to view and purchase from a list of available Google Play codes. You also have the option to “Gift It” if you’re purchasing these codes for family and friends.
- Upon obtaining the code, you can then redeem it in your Google Play Store app via the “Redeem” option in the menu bar.

Once purchased, these Google Play codes can be redeemed at any time as they do not have a validity period. Upon redemption, you can use the credit on any paid services, including but not limited to movies, books, in-app credit, and new apps.
“With the year about to end, these Google Play codes make the perfect gift with our New Year offers. A gift for loved ones and friends to stay connected through games where it will keep all of us safe at home whilst enjoying the favourite games without limits, or enable your co-workers to purchase productivity apps or tools to better adapt to the work-from-home culture,” said Boost in its press release.
Boost had launched its #BoostGotYou campaign back in March, in an effort to help Malaysians cope with the Covid-19 pandemic. It offers a variety of digital services and solutions so that Malaysians can carry out various daily tasks – such as paying bills, buying prepaid top-ups, shopping for groceries online, and getting insurance coverage – with contactless convenience.
