Depressed man in bid to burn hotel

Kota Kinabalu:  A 35-year-old local depressed that his mum was jailed in the peninsula allegedly set fire to a hotel room while attempting to take his own life at the Lazenda Commercial Centre in Labuan, Tuesday.

 Acting Labuan Police Chief DSP Mohd Ibrahim Mohd Ghani, said initial findings showed that the man tried to set fire to several items in the hotel room at about 4.30am.

 He was found with injuries on both wrists, believed sustained when he tried to slit his wrists with glass shards.

 Firefighters were summoned to the premises and found that the room, located on the third floor of the hotel building, was locked from the inside.
