Motorists: Why the iron barriers?

Kota Kinabalu: Motorists are questioning the rationale behind placing iron barriers on the main road near the Centre Point Shopping Complex, resulting in daily congestion along the stretch. 

“Hundreds of vehicles ply this stretch on a daily basis, it becomes congested because what is supposed to be a three-lane stretch is now two lanes due to these iron barriers blocking the access,” said one motorist.

“I thought this stretch is a public road in the city and as a tax payer I think we deserve an explanation as to why iron barriers have been placed. Is it authorised or is it done by individuals with self-interest?” one of them said.

Another motorist suggested that instead of placing iron barriers, it would be better to have “No Parking” signages on the stretch.
