Kota Kinabalu: District offices in Sabah are in the process of gathering information to ensure that the damage to public infrastructure caused by the floods that hit the State recently, can be repaired as soon as possible.

State Rural Development Minister Datuk Jahid Jahim (pic) said the ministry had received reports on the damages in villages in several districts but was waiting for information and more detailed reports from their respective district offices, before taking further action.

“I have asked district offices to gather detailed information on the damages and we will immediately take action to repair these infrastructure facilities that are an urgent need for the residents.

“We know there are infrastructures such as damaged village roads and suspension bridges, and the ministry will ensure these problems are resolved as soon as possible, when we receive a detailed report,” he said.
