Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admits Sokratis will be allowed to leave this month.
The Greece defender comes off contract in June and is in talks about a move away.
Genoa have confirmed their interest in signing Sokratis for a second time.
And Arteta said: "Papa will probably leave us during this transfer period.
“William Saliba has already gone on loan (to OGC Nice). So we don't have too many central defenders anymore."
