Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt.
The attacking midfielder has been out of favor with the German club this season.
However, he is hoping to fight for his place in the team, according to football.london.
Arsenal did have an interest in Brandt, but may now have to move on to other targets.
The Gunners are prioritising a creative midfielder in the winter, having been linked with Lyon's Houssem Aouar for all of the summer transfer window.
But it is unlikely that the creative player will be Brandt, as he looks set to stay in Germany for the time being.
