Number of victims lower as floods recede in low-lying areas

Kota Kinabalu: The number of flood victims in Sabah has decreased as floodwaters in several low-lying areas started to recede Friday. 

According to the statistics provided by the State Civil Defence Force, the number of flood victims has gone down to 313 people at 4pm from 841 people at 12pm.  

The number of affected districts has also been reduced from six to four, namely Pitas, Beaufort, Lahad Datu and Paitan.

The other two districts which have shown gradual improvement are Kota Marudu and Kudat.
