TAMBUNAN: Women should not be shy to give ideas and views to develop their respective villages, said Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan (pic).He said the Government’s strategy to increase the number of women leaders, namely 30 per cent female quota staff at the village level, should be welcomed and they should take the opportunity to contribute to the progress of a village. “Similarly, youths should also be given the opportunity to lead any position in the village’s management, either in the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) or the Village Head in determining the development direction of a village.

“Women need to use this opportunity to show their leadership talents in managing the development and community progress in the village,” he said when officiating the appointments of District Chief (KD), Native Chief (KAN), Native Chief Representative (WKAN), Village Chief (KK) and the Head of the Chinese Community (KMC) of Tambunan, Sunday.
