Kota Kinabalu: A total of 114 foreigners were rounded up for inspection during an integrated operation led by the State Immigration Department, here, on Tuesday.

Of the figure, 29 Filipinos and 20 Indonesians, comprising 23 men, 12 women, nine boys and five girls, were detained for various immigration offences.

The detainees have since been taken to the Papar Immigration Depot’s Quarantine and Transit Centre for repatriation, according to Sabah Immigration Director Datuk Dr Muhamad Sade Mohamad Amin.

“The main objective of the operation is to flush out foreigners, especially undocumented immigrants who turn government land reserves and private owned land into squatter settlements,” he said in a statement, Thursday.
