Kota Kinabalu: Some senior citizens are glad the proposal to redefine senior citizens as those above 65 did not materi abuse changing of the age definition of senior citizens from 60 years to 65 years, and hope that their MPs take note of their stance.According to some of them, it would have setback their claims for discounted senior citizen fares on airlines public transportation, cinema tickets, etc. One of them, Harry Wong said it would have prevented him being a member of the Tun Mohd Fuad Research Library at the Yayasan Sabah Complex.

The membership fee is a few hundred ringgit, but senior citizens get to join at half fee.
