HIV screening before marriage effective, says YB

BEAUFORT: Pre-marriage HIV status screening is one of the most efficient ways to create awareness for AIDS, said Lumadan assemblyman Ruslan Muharam.

“Society must be made aware of the dangers of HIV and AIDS so that they avoid any contributing factors, especially drug abuse,” he said when launching the World AIDS Day celebration by the Weston Health Advisory Panel, here recently.

“Avoid any unbeneficial activities and avoid from random sex or same sex activities to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS,” he said. His speech was read by Lumadan community development leader Diaslin [email protected]

He said World AIDS Day which was observed on December 1 annually was important to remind the people of its dangers.
