Former Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano says the club has failed to adequately replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo is now in his third season with Juventus.
Valdano told El Transistor: “since Cristiano left, Madrid is missing one goal per game; the Madrid now has no specialist goalscorer.
"Real Madrid has one face for great occasions and another for lesser occasions."
On Luka Jovic, who just joined Eintracht Frankfurt on-loan, he commented that “he hasn't worked in more than a year, it's not easy to play with the Real Madrid shirt", while on Martin Odegaard he pointed out that “we don't know what's going on with him. He was injured and has had no chances since".
He also spoke of Eden Hazard, “a star who has had a year full of misfortunes; Madrid has to get him back" and indicated that "Vinicius is participating very little and (Marco) Asensio is growing, at the moment that place is for Asensio".
Finally, regarding the future, he pointed out that “(Erling) Haaland is a superior talent, he is a machine, he shows things that are not seen in the world of football. He has enormous power, he is a player that excites me".
