Road repaired at ‘Bung speed’

Kota Kinabalu: Speedy repairs on Jalan Bukit Bendera Upper at Signal Hill has left some wondering  whether it is because a politician noted for his colourful expressions when enraged, including use of four letter words, happens to be the new Sabah Works Minister.

A break from the past when those responsible for carrying out road repairs seemed indifferent and not fearful of being scolded.

Daily Express published a report on the need to quickly repair Signal Hill Road after members of the public were impressed with how fast Datuk Bung Moktar Radin (pic) got a collapsed bridge in Kota Belud reinstalled and reopened to traffic. They wanted him to do the same.

Only former Chief Minister Tan Sri Harris Salleh during the Berjaya era is well known for not tolerating project delays, often sending shivers down the spines of contractors who dilly dally or whose work is not up to expectations.
