Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola accepts some of his senior players could move on this summer.
Guardiola is circumspect over the plans of his individual players.
"All my players deserve to stay for many years to come. Their qualities are exceptional, without a doubt. But from year to year the situation is different because some choose to accept their roles and others do not," he said.
"It's not about quality, it's about accepting that sometimes you do not play and then the player has to leave.
"Players accept their roles for different reasons, age, personality or many others. Others do not. When they play, everything is perfect but it becomes a problem when they are not playing with the team.
"These players need to reflect and talk to their agents and the club, and decide what's best for them and for the club, so I do not know what will happen next season."
