Juventus fullback Danilo has discussed the criticism he's copped over his career.

This season, Danilo believes he's in the best form of his career.

He posted to social media: “Nobody likes to receive criticism, especially when it is destructive. If I had paid too much attention to it I would not have left the house. I remember when I went to play in the Mineiro championship: already then I received a lot.

"When I started in the first team I was not a promise, I did not explode immediately. I had to fight, I wasn't that player who puts on a show. I wondered whether to listen to criticism or my conscience, which told me I had potential. When I went to Santos, I had been the revelation of the Mineiro championship, but I was not yet considered in Brazil. I had to go to a shop to buy shoes and clothes, it's not that I was underestimated but I certainly wasn't valued. I was not the man of the match, and more criticism began from there.

"I could give importance to those people who truly supported me. When I went to Porto, I was the second most expensive transfer in club history after the Hulk. At the beginning I received a lot of criticism, I ended up becoming an important player in the Champions League final: I played 11 games when Real won the competition."
